Minnesota Wedding Photographer {Love is in the air!}

The last six weeks have been phenomenally busy! I figured I’d load up some wedding sneak peeks for these brides and their friends and family.

First up: Katie and Kyle

Katie and her lovely ladies…

Kyle with his handsome fellas…

I love that they had flower petals thrown as they left the church! What a way to celebrate!

Next up? Cassie and Nick!

As stunning as she looks in pictures, Cassie was even more beautiful in person! (Nick, you looked nice, too)

This poor wedding party was outside for pictures on a mega-windy October day! They did such a good job putting up with the gusts of wind doing a number on their hair!

For anyone that frequents Cassie’s salon, this next group may look familiar….

Last, but certainly not least, Mary and Carlos. Doesn’t Miss Mary look like a movie star?

These kids got married in St. Paul. Their wedding party was staying at the St. Paul Hotel. Luckily, I’d been there before and knew there was a beautiful marble building just across the park! SCORE!

Mary and Carlos had their reception at a beautiful restaurant in St. Paul. Downstairs was so cozy and unique…

And Carlos was not at all shy or uncomfortable with kissing in front of a huge crowd of people…so I figured I’d end with a big ol’ smoocher picture!! You’re welcome.

That’s it for my weddings this year! WHEW! Now to get through all the editing that comes with them! BUSY BUSY!

Until next time,

Tara

Oh, HI BLOG READERS! Have I been neglecting you, lately? I’d say YES. Sorry about that. Things around here have been biz-zay. I typically don’t like throwing a bevy of different sessions all in one post, but I’m just going to have to make an exception…and you’re just going to have to look at ALLLL the pretty pictures to find the ones you’re looking for!;)

First up? Sweet little Miss Marni. She came to visit when she was just a few days old here. I can’t believe this is that same baby! It just doesn’t seem like it was long enough ago for her to have changed this much! So adorable.

Next up, a set of brothers that have been coming to see me for a few years, now. I took pictures of the younger guy when he was brand spankin’ new back when I was shooting sessions upstairs in my living/dining room! I do NOT miss those days! Thanks to their mom for coming back and becoming such a good friend in the process!

This first one sorta makes me think that mom n’ dad have their work cut out for them when girls become of more interest than guitar playing to him….;)

And this little guy? He was NOT excited to take pictures at my studio, but once we got out to their farm? All smiles.

I like to call this last one from this session: VICTORY IS MINE! Mom and I worked really REEEEALLY hard on getting a shot of the two of them together that did not involve wrestling or other boy things. We persevered and came away victorious. You may think I’m being dramatic about this…I’m not. We deserve props.

The next set of siblings came and spent a morning with me and I was in LOVE. Their big smiles and amazing blue eyes had me when they walked in the door…and then I found out the big sister speaks Norwegian…AMAZING! She was so smart and a very good big sister. But who wouldn’t be with a little brother this cute?

Sara and Mark. I should have bought a lottery ticket the day of their session. What are the odds that the day AND location would be perfect? They asked me to come out to Sara’s family farm and before I could really even scope out the red out buildings (my fave) Mark was saying, “we can do down by the lake…there’s a cornfield and a pasture down there.” UM, YES PLEASE?! Such a great afternoon and SO MANY beautiful images to choose from!

What’s that ZZTop song? About ladies loving a sharp dressed man? Yeah. I think these handsome fellas could probably be in a remake of the video, don’t you think?

Add some parental units and VOILA! Beautiful family portrait!

I love the interaction on this next one. The way he looks at his momma like she’s the most beautiful and hilarious person on the planet. (sigh) I miss those days!

And the little guy got the spotlight all to himself for a bit. He is, after all, celebrating being ONE! It doesn’t seem like it could have been a year ago that we did this!

Last, but certainly not least, a brand new little guy that is very special to me. My amazing friend, Laurie (who helped me finish my studio…for those of you that know that story) had her first baby recently. He came to visit me on his one week birthday. I must say, he really IS a looker…but I may be just slightly biased. He came a little early…like we’re-so-lucky-we-took-maternity-pictures-and-had-that-baby-shower-when-we-did kind of early. But it’s okay. Because he is so cute.

Meet Cru.

See that smile? It’s because he LOVES me taking his picture.

And THAT, folks, is what’s been happenin’ lately! OH, and there are a few weddings that still need sneak peeks. Like, soon! So I’ll post those in another day…after you soak up all the adorable in this post!

Until next time!

Catching Up

It’s been a while since a post…things have been busy, to say the very least.

For those of you that don’t know us personally, I’ll recap our summer just briefly:

Once my daughter’s traveling softball league was done, we thought that the rest of the summer would be relaxing…you know, smooooooth sailing. Yeah…not so much. We’re in the middle of a home improvement project that has dragged out over twice as long as what was originally quoted to us leaving every room in our home (new windows/trim) at least a little ripped apart and re-arranged. Just as we thought we were as frustrated as we could be with living in complete (more so than usual) disorganization and I just couldn’t possibly live one more day with my living room drapes balanced across my dining room table, we encountered a whole new set of inconveniences. Our main floor toilet overflowed and continued running for two hours before it was discovered. The water leaked downstairs into the ceiling of our hallway and (sigh) my studio. Of course, the only place the water leaked and dripped was right above my desk…you know, where I keep my computer and my camera bag. (sigh, again) That was just a few weeks ago. There were a few days of meltdown, a day or so of mourning the loss of part of my walls and ceiling after the water damage specialists came in and cut out what needed cutting. There have been many days of grumbling about sheetrock dust and all the little crumbly garbage crud that falls out of walls when you cut holes or install trim, about my main bathroom that has no flooring (which is also, so terribly inconveniently, my laundry room) is out of commission until insurance makes their move, and about trying to maintain some sort of order between all the chaos, my family and my work.

I had sessions scheduled, literally, within DAYS of finding my camera in a soaked camera bag. Luckily I had a photogra-friend that could part with one of her cameras to help me out while mine got sent off to the camera hospital (or Canon Repair Services…). I had another friend that was more than happy to come help me move things around, clean and generally “spruce up” my studio so it didn’t seem so much like the bottom had temporarily dropped out of my business!

My customers have been SO GREAT as I’ve had to email and say “can we reschedule?” or “your pictures were destroyed…I have to re-order…so sorry!” or “see that big hole in the ceiling with wires and insulation hanging out of it? let’s pretend it’s not there! SMILE!!!” Not one person has given me any kind of grief…and for that, my amazing customers, I thank you. I don’t know what I did to end up with the type of clientele that I do…but I hope I keep doing it. You’ve all been so understanding and forgiving of the less than ideal circumstances I’ve been working in. <3

With THAT having been said…HERE is what I’ve been up to, session-wise, during all the crazy ridiculousness that has been my life lately!

Ta-daaaaah!

Not to mention, there’s more over on the senior blog!

I will continue to plow forth, as it makes no sense to plow backth.

Until next time!

Brand New…And Two!

I’ve stopped running around getting my fair booth ready for juuuuust long enough to post a few sneak peeks to my blog! I’ve had lots of visitors lately…I love seeing the variety of personalities that shine through in the images I take!

First, let’s meet a handsome little guy that came to meet me at just ten days old!

And no wonder he’s so beautiful? Look how cute mom and dad are!

Next up? Miss Taytum. She just turned two.

How cute is she? SERIOUSLY??

Of course we had to lay on a blanket and enjoy the day…or maybe play tickle with mommy…either way: SMILES!

So cute! I think that should be it for a few days…I took some time off while our siding and window project gets going and the fair is in town! Speaking of which, don’t forget to come say hi to me if you’re out and about checking out all the 4-H projects and cheese curds!

Until next time,

Tara

More Summer Sweetness | Minnesota Photographer

I have the cutest clientele. Hands down. I don’t know how all the cute kids find me, but they do.

Here’s Jaeger and his little brother, Cash. They came to visit last week. How cute are they?Bright eyed and bushy-tailed for his entire visit!

Until his beautiful momma pulled a few tricks out of her bag…

He slept for a total of 47 seconds (give or take) and I managed to get this:

How beautiful is he? (sigh) I could have snuggled him allllll day!

Next up? A regular at the studio…Miss E.

Recognize her? She’s been a loyal customer since she was six days old! I can’t believe she’s two already!

She brought her favorite big girl friend, Brenna. You’ve seen her around here, before, too.:)

Do you see those dimples? I just want to SQUEEZE her!!!

She looks like such a big girl here! Sorta makes me wish I could slow down the clock a little for her mommy.

When I look at images from a post like this, it reminds me how quick our little ones go from brand new to big kids…and everything after that. I really do feel like I’m so lucky to have the job that I do! I love seeing how kids grow and change, building relationships with families, and doing something that I love! Lucky, lucky girl…that really is me.;)

Until next time!
